FIRE 2025

It is with a heavy heart that we must share with you that the 2025 Sylvan Lake Cabernet Sauvignon, beautifully developing on the vine in August 2025, has been destroyed by smoke impact from the Picket Fire.  Although the wildfire was contained about 3 miles north of our location, we were affected by wildfire smoke which varied in intensity over the course of five or six days.  Scientific analysis has confirmed that the grapes were adversely affected.  Adhering to our commitment to the highest standards of winemaking, we will not be creating a wine from Sylvan Lake in 2025.

Many thanks to all of you who reached out during the fire to check in on us and the crop.  We feel fortunate that no lives or homes were lost, and are grateful to the many first responders who worked so very hard to contain the flames.  We are looking forward to 2026 with enthusiasm and optimism.
